The Bladder and Bowel Care Service supports children and young people from 3 - 19 years old to help manage continence. The role of the Bladder and Bowel Care Service is to ensure all children and young people have the correct support and advice with regards to their bladder and bowel care problems.
Typical types of problems that we can help with include bedwetting, daytime wetting and bowel problems. We carry out assessments and provide suggestions and ideas to families about how to manage continence. We also manage the supply and delivery of incontinence products to children and young people. We enable Health Care Professionals to deliver evidence based care to all children and young people with regards to bladder and bowel problems. Children and Young People may attend a clinic until the problem is resolved or be referred to secondary care for further review of problem.
