What do we do?
We provide community support services to a wide range of people.
We pride ourselves on being person centred, respecting individuality and valuing diversity.
Our service supports people to live as independently as possible.
We are specialist providers of community support services. Our skilled team members communicate with the people who we support in their first language/preferred communication, including British Sign Language (BSL), Makaton, DeafBlind manual/block, Signed Supported English (SSE), other sign languages, signs/symbols and points of reference. Many of our staff are Deaf themselves.
We are signed up to the Skills for Care Social Care Commitment and we are Dignity Champions.
Community Support provides:
- Community support to Deaf adults with learning disabilities, mental health challenges or additional needs
- Support for older Deaf people
- Life Skills Groups
- Dementia Support
- Community, Social, Mental Health Groups
- Support for Deaf carers
Examples of how we support people include:
- Shopping
- Eating healthily
- Budgeting/Managing money
- Understanding/translating correspondence and dealing with appropriately
- Paying bills
- Attending appointments
- Developing social skills
- Traveling independently
- Accessing other services
