City Lit Learning Disability

(Part of City Lit (City Literary Institute) adult education college)

City Lit Learning Disability offers part-time courses for adults with learning disabilities for all London boroughs. Our courses cover art and crafts, music making, singing, computing, dance, drama,  film making, London visits, science, and campaigning. We offer advice sessions by appointment. We are located in Keeley Street WC2, between Covent Garden and Holborn tube stations.

Our courses typically consist of a single 2-hour session per week and run for a total of 30 weeks between September and July. Students will need to supply their own support worker if support is needed in class, though in some circumstances we can arrange for temporary volunteer support.

There is no concessionary fee in any of our classes, but a partial bursary may be offered at our discretion for students unable to afford the full fee who show sufficient commitment to learning.

Please contact us for an Easy Read prospectus of our courses.

Referrals Policy

Potential students may be referred by agencies or families, or self-refer.

Courses start in September, but students may also join classes during the year if there are vacancies. Initial enrolment for September starts in July (contact us for exact dates.) Most classes will have waiting lists by mid-September.

Students new to our programme are asked to do a free 2-week trial at the start of the course before deciding whether to enrol permanently. Course fees must be paid in full before the first session: students doing trials who decide not to continue after the end of the trial will be refunded in full. Refunds cannot be given to other students during the year except in exceptional circumstances at our discretion.
