Spectrum is a registered charity run and led by UCL medical students, offering a befriending service to children aged 4-18 with disabilities in the Camden Borough of London. Spectrum aims to support the development of these children and provide respite for their families.
Two medical students are paired up with a child and partake in activities and outings approximately every 2 weeks for 1-3 hours. Activities are entirely based upon the child and families interests and abilities.
At Spectrum we aim to provide these children with unforgettable experiences and opportunities, whilst helping them to develop in confidence and improve their communication skills, social awareness, and enabling them to become more independent.
The charity also partakes in an annual weekend residential trip where both volunteers and children partake in a variety of activities.
