Healthy Living Service

We are a child weight management service who provide help and support to school aged children (5 to 16 years of age) with healthy living and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

To be eligible for the service, the child has to be a Camden resident or attend a Camden school. The child has to be overweight, having a BMI percentile of 91 or above (using height, weight, age and gender measurements)

The team consists of qualified Nutritionists and runs across the whole borough of Camden, offering home visits, school visits (in Camden schools) and visits at Hunter Street and Gospel Oak Health Centre.

How are decisions made about eligibility for your service?

The child has to be a Camden resident or attend a Camden school. The child has to be overweight, having a BMI percentile of 91 or above (using height, weight, age and gender measurements ).  If a child has complex needs or co-morbidities they will be assessed via a multi-disciplinary team and referred into the correct service.

How do you communicate with service users and how are they involved in decision making/planning?

Telephone, email, letters and face to face appointments.

Is your service fully accessible?

Yes - The service runs across the whole borough of Camden, offering home visits, school visits (in Camden schools) and visits at Hunter Street and Gospel Oak Health Centre.

What training have the staff supporting children and young people with SEND had/or will be they be getting?

The team consists of a qualified Nutritionist, registered with the Association For Nutrition (AFN).  The team have had safeguarding level 3 training, promoting change and growth training.
