Arbours Association

Provides personal and psychotherapeutic support outside psychiatric hospitals for people in emotional distress. The Arbours Association runs 3 therapeutic community houses offering single rooms, communal facilities, individual therapy and therapeutic activities. 2-3 staff facilitators live in during the week, 2 senior psychotherapists are on call. Length of stay 3 months-6 years. The Arbours Psychotherapy Service offers initial assessment with referral to an appropriate psychotherapist, with low-cost to high-cost fees depending on ability to pay. The Arbours Association of Psychotherapists (AAP) runs a 4-year professional training programme.
