Our service provides:
1. Area Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) support to settings and centres in Camden. These are nurseries in children's centres, private, voluntary and independent nursery settings. This includes information about the responsibilities of settings under the SEND Code of Practice for the Identification and Assessment of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities; signposting to other agencies if appropriate.
2. Training for staff through the IEYS central training programme such as 'An introduction to the role of the SENCO' – written for Camden nursery SENCOs; High Incidence Needs and how to meet them; Training on local SEND procedures. We also offer bespoke training for a setting or a particular child's needs.
3. Direct Interventions for a child requiring a specialist programme.
4. Support for SENCOs in Multi-Agency working where a child's needs are severe and complex and requires a multi-agency team response.
