Books on Prescription

'Prescriptions' for books can be given to patients suffering from common emotional problems. The books are suitable for adults with mild-moderate problems who feel they would like to try a self-help approach. At present, most publications are in English, but there is a small range of booklets in other languages. The books can be borrowed from any of the 6 Camden libraries listed. To benefit from the scheme people can join the library by presenting their prescription. A linked project, Reading is Good for your Health, enables library card holders to self-prescribe and borrow BoP titles from the open shelves in all six participating libraries.Camden Books on Prescription and Reading is Good for Your Health are now part of the national Books on Prescription Reading Well Scheme.
