Camden designated South Kentish Town Conservation Area Advisory Committee in 2001.
It includes Rochester Conservation Area, around Rochester Terrace Gardens, and Jeffreys Street Conservation Area around Jeffreys Street, Reeds Place and Royal College Street to Camden Road Station. In 2007, Camden also designated adjacent Camden Broadway Conservation Area with a separate CAAC.
These three areas are at the junction of Cantelowes, Somers Town and Camden Town with Primrose Hill wards. All lie in NW1 rather than NW5, the land developed by the Earls of Camden in the first half of the nineteenth century, so that the area might better be called 'North Camden Town'.
