icandance Wednesday Teen Club

icandance offers a creative experience where dancers have the opportunity to learn new steps, build friendships and develop self-confidence.

Our classes are fun, interactive and cater to the needs of each individual with a high ratio of skilled support workers.

The Wednesday Teen Club is teenagers and takes place from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

Where is the service located and what areas does it cover?

Our classes run from Fitzjohn’s Primary School in Hampstead on Saturdays throughout the school term.

Who does your service provide for?

We provide for children and young people aged between 4 and 25, giving them the chance to dance every week and work towards an annual theatre production which takes place every summer.

How can a child or young person start using the service?

They can self-refer and we take referrals from the Disabled Children’s Team in MOSAIC.

How are decisions made about eligibility for your service?

We take all children and young people with a disability regardless of severity or geographical location.

How do you communicate with service users and how are they involved in decision making/planning?

We seek the views of all our service users, either orally where possible or via PECS, Makaton, gestures and observations. Views from the families are also sought on a regular basis.

Is your service fully accessible?

Our service is fully accessible.

What training have the staff supporting children and young people with SEND had/or will be they be getting?

Our staff receive regular training in:- safeguarding, first aid, epilepsy, disability awareness, manual handling, Makaton.
