Public transport and disabled access

There are lots of places to go, things to see and do in Camden, as well as across London and beyond. Transport is an important way of helping you get out and about.

Transport for London

The Transport for London Accessibility website has lots of details about travelling around London as well as a Plan your journey tool so you can work out the best and more accessible route for you.

There are details about a Travel mentoring service to help you gain confidence as you start to use Public Transport by yourself.

London Underground and Buses

When using London Underground or travelling by bus, it can be a good idea to Plan your journey first, so you can see which stations and stops are the most accessible to your needs.

Rail travel

There are different Railcard options that you can find out about. These include the family and friends option, as well as the Disabled person's railcard. There is an eligibility criteria though, so you will need to check if you are eligible although there are sometime other discounts and offers.

 

Blue badge parking permits

The blue badge scheme aims to help disabled people who have severe mobility problems to access services and other facilities by allowing them to park close to their destination. The scheme provides a range of on-street parking concessions for Blue Badge holders who are traveling either as a driver or passenger.

Disabled Person’s Freedom Pass

The Disabled Persons Freedom Pass is a travel pass that allows Camden's disabled residents, with a permanent disability affecting their mobility, free travel within the Greater London area. The pass is valid on all London Transport networks.
