Holborn Community Association Befriending Scheme

(A befriending scheme for older people in South Camden)

Our Befriending scheme brings older people together with volunteers on a weekly basis.  You can meet in the older person's home or plan an outside activity.  Befrienders might have a tea and chat, cook or sing together – its about spending time together and building a friendship.  Older people taking part all say it’s great for them.

We’ll offer you training to help you understand and respond to older people’s needs as well as regular supervision with our Befriending Organiser to make sure everything’s going well.  We’ll work with you to get the match right so that both older people and befrienders enjoy their time together.

All volunteers will need to be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check

Our volunteer recruitment is a rolling process and we’re always ready to hear from you.  For further information and to register interest in this opportunity please email kate.blackshaw@holborncommunity.co.uk
