Campaigns seeking to reduce car use in favour of more sustainable forms of transport such as walking, cycling and public transport. They aim to highlight the difference reducing traffic congestion and vehicle emissions can make to our quality of life and supports initiatives to achieve this. The campaigns include events throughout the year such as Car Free Day held as part of European Mobility Week in mid-September each year, with other events held throughout the year to continually promote the sustainable transport message, including Bike Week and Walking Works (walking to work promotion).
