Provides specialist welfare rights advice and casework to council tenants to help them sustain their tenancies, ensure they receive appropriate benefits entitlement and avoid getting into rent arrears. New council tenants are assisted in managing their tenancies by receiving benefits and budgeting advice from the introductory stage to when they become secure tenants. A service is also provided to the Pathways single people's hostels across the council. Also provided is specialist debt and financial inclusion advice and casework to council tenants. This includes resolving multiple debt problems and ensuring tenants are 'financially included' such as opening bank accounts, setting up direct debits and standing orders.
