A health and wellbeing charity that helps people change their lives, share their stories and influence the world. We promote physical and mental wellbeing for the most deprived and vulnerable people in North London through our services. These services include the Health Advocacy Service which empowers refugee and migrant communities to overcome the health inequalities they face and improve their wellbeing by tackling language and cultural barriers, harmful traditional practices, poverty, unemployment and social exclusion. Our current activities include:
Community interpreting (including within Primary Health Care in the London Borough of Camden)
Bilingual Advocacy and Support (including within Primary Health Care in the London Borough of Camden)
Community health workshops
Volunteering opportunities and support for refugee and migrant individuals
Bright Beginnings Project (bilingual individual and group support for pregnant women or those with a baby under 1)
Community research projects
A range of activities to tackle FGM (female genital mutilation) and support women affected by FGM, including community workshops, individual support and advocacy, training for professionals, a pan-London FGM Forum, an Islington Steering Group and the Newham FGM Prevention Service.
