Tavistock Relationships is a centre of excellence for psychodynamic relationship therapy. Our approach is grounded in psychoanalytic theory and we have been developing this way of working for more than 60 years. At the sessions your therapist will explore the issues that are concerning you and they will, over a period of time, try and understand what these issues mean and how they might relate to other events in your life. We believe couples often use the relationship to work things through that have been painful or traumatic in the past. Although relationships can be very challenging, they can also be healing.
At Tavistock Relationships we aim to help you get your relationship back on track so that it can be a partnership from which you can both grow and develop. On the whole, Tavistock Relationships therapists don’t give homework or instructions on how you should behave with each other - we have found that our way of working helps couples to make lasting change rather than offering just a quick fix.
